Puppy Tips


  • Set a schedule - puppies learn best when they have a routine.
  • Crate train - this will help with house training and gives your puppy a safe and secure place to nap.
  • Reward good behavior with positive actions - belly rubs, treats, and toys.
  • For bad behavior - ignore, redirect, take away.
  • Puppy classes - enroll your puppy in class, it's a great way to train and build confidence in your puppy.
  • Avoid dog parks - avoid dog parks until their vaccine series is complete.

Preventive Care Schedule

Spay / Neuter Information


  • When to schedule your puppy's procedure is determined by the size and growth rate of your puppy.
  • Smaller dogs reach their final growth more quickly than larger dogs. Example: a Pug may be neutered between 6-7 months of age and a Great Dane at 18-24 months.
  • We will monitor your puppy's growth and decide together the best time for their spay / neuter.

  • Check food labels to make sure the formula meets AAFCO standards for growth.
  • Avoid changing foods without a transition.
  • Introduce treats slowly to avoid GI upset.
  • Avoid chews and treats that can break and splinter.
  • Do not allow your puppy to eat grass and/or sticks.
